2014 Spirited Drive

Salmon Arm – August 16th, 2014

It didn’t matter that the weather was overcast on August 16th because your eyes would’ve been glued to the convoy of BMWs, Porsche, Ferrari’s and Maserati’s that filled the roads as we made our way from Giobean Cafe in Kelowna all the way to Salmon Arm and back again on our second Spirited Drive of the season.

Leaving Giobean around 8:30am, we crossed the bridge and made our way onto Westside road, eventually weaving and winding our way into Spallumcheen through the back roads and into Armstrong for a quick coffee break at the eclectic Wild Oak Cafe and Community Market.

From here we really headed into farm country and onto some gorgeous, empty roads, making our way past fields of asparagus, dairy farms, and livestock before arriving at the Blue Canoe Bakery and Cafe in Salmon Arm for some lunch.

We left Salmon Arm around 1:45 and headed back through Grindrod and Enderby, out through wine country in Carrs Landing until we made our final stop at the OK Patio Cafe in Lake Country. From here it was beautiful curved roads all the way home as we made our way back to Kelowna, ending a gorgeous, 255km round trip. A massive thank you goes out to Jill Mackenzie for creating this gorgeous road map, and for everyone who came out to experience an incredible Spirited Drive.
