An Epic Restoration for an Iconic Land Rover: Part 2
The Land Rover brand has a remarkably storied past and historic run ever since they hit the North American showrooms in 1961. It has gone from a beast of a utility and war vehicle to now one of the most sought after collector items by car enthusiasts. So, when our customer needed some TLC done to his beloved 1971 Land Rover 110 Station Wagon, our team at Motor Werke was lucky enough to get the call.
Part 1 of the restoration has already been completed and we’re excited to now share the second phase. Finding an older Land Rover in perfect condition can be challenging. Even if the outside looks mint, the components are likely aging and need a proper restoration.
During Motor Werke’s restoration process of this Land Rover, our auto technicians removed the engine and transmission due to leaks occurring and concerning noises from the transmission. Both components were stripped apart and checked. A thorough investigation by our technicians always reveals if anything else needs to be replaced (worn-out valves, gears, etc.). If so, the technicians will replace anything defective using only factory quality or better parts. Once the repairs pass our rigorous diagnostic testing, the technicians reseal the units with all new gaskets and this engine and transmission will perform like new.
Motor Werke offers restoration services for all European makes and models such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Volkswagen, MINI, Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Maserati.
